Photo Facials/Cynosure Icon MaxG IPL

Uneven skin tone is a common aesthetic problem we all notice as we age especially if we have an active lifestyle out in the sun. After years of unprotected sun exposure, you will notice brown spots, freckles, sun spots. You may also notice unwanted vessels around your nose or rosacea on your cheeks.

These common concerns can now be addressed with Photorejuvenation, also known as IPL Skin Rejuvenation. It is the ultimate solution you've been searching for.  At YOUtopia Medical Spa we're thrilled to offer this advanced treatment that uses pulsed light to correct skin issues and stimulate collagen production.

This non-invasive procedure offers a comfortable experience, making it an excellent option for clients seeking to enhance their skin's overall appearance.

How It Works

Icon™ MaxG IPL utilizes optimized pulsed light technology which, unlike lasers, uses many wavelengths of light with special filters that deliver the best wavelengths to treat specific aesthetic conditions. As the handpiece glides over the area being treated, specialized pulses of light are delivered into your skin and target brown spots, sundamage and vessels without causing harm to the surrounding skin. Once these targets absorb the energy they are destroyed and will slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process. You will see your brown spots turn darker in color and flake off over the next few weeks. You may also see an immediate improvement in your vessels with a continued clearance over the next few weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What are dermal Fillers?
Dermal filler is compromised of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring substance found within our body that contributes to volume and hydration. Fillers temporarily augment facial contours by filing any volume deficits while correcting and smoothing any deep wrinkles for a natural - looking result.
  • Preparing for Fillers
You don’t need to do much to prepare for dermal fillers, but you may wish to consider doing the following to reduce bruising and swelling. Avoid medications such as Aspirin, Motrin and Ibuprofen which can be blood-thinning. Avoid topical products such as retinol or anti-ageing creams. Avoid irritating procedures such as waxing or hair removal in the area Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours before treatment. Avoid Botox and dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Procedure and Down Time
Once you have completed a consultation with our medical practitioner, the treatment area is prepped and injected with either a fine needle or a cannula, dependent on safety, preference, and location of treatment. The procedure takes up to an hour. You might have mild discomfort, bruising and swelling for up to a week. After the swelling goes down, you might need a touch-up injection for best results.
  • Post Care Instructions
It is normal to be somewhat red, tender, and swollen for about 2 to 4 days after filler injection, and bruising is always possible. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (like Celebrex) for 24 hours to minimize bruising. No alcohol for 24 hours. No upside-down activities (like yoga) or vigorous exercise for 24 hours. No dental procedures, including routine cleanings, for two weeks after filler
  • Results
Results typically last between 6 months to 1 year, but this varies from person to person.

Laser Hair Removal

Free yourself from the hassle, mess and time spent removing hair traditionally with shaving or waxing that can leave ingrown hairs and razor burns, making the skin appear red, irritated, and irregular.

At YOUtopia Medical Spa our certified and experience skin health specialists provide efficient and highly effective laser hair removal using the Cynosure Icon laser system.

Ditch the Razor and try Laser!

How it works.

The Cynosure Icon MaxRs handpiece emits highly controlled laser energy into areas of unwanted hair.

The laser is then absorbed by the melanin (pigment that gives skin color) and causes an increase in temperature within the area. This in turn damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin known as hair follicles. Because the main function of the hair follicles is to produce hair, the laser-induced damage impairs this ability. As a result, future hair regrowth in the area is prevented. With additional treatments, more hair follicles are damaged and the results become more noticeable. Not all hairs are in the same stage of development and only those in the anagen phase (growth stage) are effectively damaged so most patients will require additional treatments to achieve smoother, radiant, and aesthetically pleasing skin.
